THE MEANING BEHIND #LiveYourLegacy

Remember going from "African booty scratcher?" to "If it ain't foreign, then it's boring?"
We know all about that struggle growing up as a 1st generation American.

There have been a series of events over the years, which in retrospect have helped shape our individual identities. There is an unusual paradox with identity coming from an immigrant background. Quite frankly, you find yourself thinking you're not American enough for the American kids or not cultural enough for the Foreign kids. Generation A was created to break the mold of the love/hate identity relationship. Our blended cultures are more than a fashion trend — it's a lifestyle. Gen A reconstructs the old and carves out a new lane.

It's okay to be who you are and #LiveYourLegacy.

Oyin
Oyin CEO

Oyin is the creative force and director of Gen A. She is a Nigerian-American and grew up in a traditional African household. At school she didn't quite fit in with everyone else. Any chance she got to share her culture with others she did. That is how Gen A was birthed. She wants to show individuals that they can embrace their culture and have fun while doing it.
